In a bid to curb spam calls and messages, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced strict measures. According to a recent tweet by DoT India, entities found making spam calls will face severe consequences.

Firstly, their telecom resources will be disconnected, and secondly, they will be blacklisted by all telecom operators for up to two years.

This move aims to tackle the growing problem of unwanted calls and messages that plague Indian citizens. With the increasing use of mobile phones, spamming has become a significant issue, and these measures are designed to put an end to it.

The regulations also extend to messaging apps, where messages containing URLs or APKs that are not whitelisted will no longer be allowed to be delivered. This means that only authorized and verified links will be accepted, preventing spammy links from reaching users' phones.
