The Smart Cities Mission has made significant progress in its journey towards transforming urban India. According to a recent update, the mission has been extended till March 2025, providing a further opportunity for cities to develop and implement innovative solutions.
As of July 3rd, 2024, a remarkable 90% of these projects have been completed, with a cumulative value of ₹1,44,237 crore. This impressive milestone is a testament to the mission's success in driving urban development and improving the quality of life for citizens.
The remaining 830 projects, worth ₹19,926 crore, are also progressing well and are expected to be completed soon. The Smart Cities Mission has focused on developing sustainable and inclusive urban infrastructure, with projects ranging from transportation systems to healthcare facilities.
By extending the mission till March 2025, the government aims to further accelerate progress and create a lasting impact on India's urban landscape.
