In a recent development, MapMyIndia, a leading digital mapping company, has sent a legal notice to Ola Electric, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer, accusing them of breaching the license agreement signed in 2021. The dispute revolves around alleged data copying by Ola Electric without permission.

As per reports, MapMyIndia had onboarded Ola Electric in 2022 to provide navigation services for its S1 Pro electric scooter. However, it seems that Ola did not adhere to the terms of the agreement, which prohibited them from co-mingling the licensed product with another similar competing product and engaging in any reverse engineering.

MapMyIndia has taken this issue seriously and has sent a legal notice to Ola Electric seeking clarification on the matter. The development comes as Ola recently launched its own mapping service, Ola Maps, which is being touted as an alternative to Google Maps and MapMyIndia's own services.

This move by Ola has raised eyebrows in the industry, with many questioning whether the new mapping service is a genuine effort or just a ploy to gain access to valuable data.
