In a unique move, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S Somanath has proposed setting up libraries in temples across the country. According to him, this initiative will promote learning and cultural heritage among the youth.

Speaking at an event, Somanath emphasized that temples can be transformed into centres for transforming society. As part of his vision, Somanath suggested that young people can visit temples in the evenings to read, discuss various issues, and develop their careers.

He urged temple managements nationwide to work towards attracting more young people to these sacred spaces. This innovative idea aims to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, making temples a hub for learning, growth, and social transformation.

The ISRO chief's proposal has raised hopes that temples can be revitalized as vibrant cultural centres. By offering libraries within their premises, temples can provide a unique setting for people of all ages to learn, share ideas, and build connections.
