The Government of India has received over 1.28 crore registrations and 14 lakh applications for its PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aiming to provide electricity connections to all households.

The Government of India has received a significant response to its flagship scheme, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, with over 1.28 crore registrations and 14 lakh applications received so far.

This initiative aims to provide electricity connections to all households in the country, ensuring energy security for every Indian.

To further accelerate the integration of renewable energy into India's overall energy mix, the government has also announced plans to bring out a Pumped Storage Policy.

The development comes as a joint venture between NTPC Limited and BHEL India is set to establish an 800 MW commercial thermal plant using Advanced Ultra-Supercritical (AUSC) technology.
