India's democratic journey has been marked by several instances where the country's founding principles were compromised. This erosion of democracy is often cited by critics who point to the repeated instances of abuse of power and manipulation of the system by those in positions of authority.

According to Mr. Sinha, a Twitter user, there have been six such murders of democracy, each committed by a prominent member of the Gandhi family.

The first instance occurred when Pandit Nehru was made Prime Minister despite Sardar Patel being the elected candidate.

These instances have led many to question the state of democracy in India and whether it has become a hollow shell of its former self. Mr. Sinha's tweet highlights the need for accountability and transparency in governance, as well as the importance of upholding democratic values and principles.
