As reported by Times Algebra on Twitter, a recent medical screening of prisoners in Delhi's Tihar jail has revealed a staggering number of inmates infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The alarming discovery indicates that out of the approximately 10,500 prisoners screened, 125 have tested positive for HIV.

The findings are equally concerning when it comes to other sexually transmitted infections. According to the report, around 200 prisoners in Tihar jail have been detected with Syphilis. This raises concerns about the overall health and well-being of the prison population.

It is crucial to note that the report does not mention any specific measures being taken by the authorities to address this issue.

The news may raise questions about the safety and security of the prison environment, particularly given that prominent figures like Arvind Kejriwal are also lodged in Tihar jail. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that Kejriwal is safe and unaffected by the medical screening findings.
